VIDEO: Rollover Accident Stops Parkway, Route 109 Traffic

COLD SPRING — At about 11:40 a.m. Dec. 11, Lower Township police, State Police and Lower Township rescue units received a report of a motor vehicle accident at the end of the Garden State Parkway at Route 109, with an overturned red pickup truck.
Two utility poles were affected and wires were reported down. The areas around Tranquility lost power.
Atlantic City Electric units responded to cut off power.
Car batteries were reported “all over the scene,” according to an officer at the accident, monitored on police scanner radio.
County fire police were summoned for traffic control. Both Route 109 and the Garden State Parkway were closed to traffic.
Town Bank Volunteer Fire Company was dispatched, as was the Cape May County Office of Emergency Management because of the spilled battery acid on the roadway.
