Vehicle Veers Off Road Into Marsh

SWAINTON – An accident occurred on Avalon Blvd. Jan. 2 when a 2005 Dodge Ram went off the road shortly after 9 a.m. It was a single vehicle accident.
According to Middle Township Police Captain John Edwards, the driver, Kenneth Martin, 53, of Brookhaven, said his vehicle “veered off the road for no known reason.”
Martin’s vehicle went approximately 100 feet into the marsh. A tow truck was called to free the vehicle from the mud.
No injuries were reported. However, due to fear of hypothermia, an ambulance was called and Martin was taken to Cape Regional Medical Center as a precautionary measure.
