UPDATED: Motor Vehicle Crash in Rio Grande

RIO GRANDE — UPDATED: Middle Township Police, Rio Grande Volunteer Fire Department, Green Creek Volunteer Fire Department and Middle Township rescue were dispatched to a motor vehicle accident on Route 47 in vicinity of Shannon Oaks Tue., March 13 at 9:14 p.m.
According to Middle Township Police, a 1998 Jeep Cherokee flipped over in a one-car accident.
Emergency personnel arrived on scene to find the driver trapped inside the vehicle. Jaws of Life were used to free the occupant, who was taken to Cape Regional Medical Center.
Animal control officers were also called to the scene to assist with a dog that was in the vehicle.
Police are continuing their investigation.
