WHITESBORO — On Mon., Jan. 3, at approximately 4pm, Middle Township Police received numerous calls of a motor vehicle crash involving a pick-up truck and a tractor trailer on Route 9 in the area of Bayview Avenue, in the Edgewood section of Middle Township. Within minutes, patrol officers arrived to find a Ford F-150 operated by Robert M. Green, 49, of Whitesboro had crossed the center line into the southbound lane of travel crashing into a tractor trailer operated by Treymayne L. Harvey, 31, of Bristol, PA.
As a result of the crash, Green was pronounced dead by paramedics on scene. The crash is under investigation by the Middle Township Police Department’s Fatal Accident Unit, assisted by the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office, Cape May County Medical Examiner’s Office and the New Jersey State Police Heavy Truck Unit.
The Rio Grande and Green Creek Fire Department’s were on scene and assisted along with Middle Township Rescue and Medic 9. The New Jersey State Department of Transportation also assisted with detouring traffic due to Route 9 being closed for approximately three hours.
