UPDATE: Two-Car Crash Investigated

ERMA — A two-car accident at Sally Marshall Crossing on Seashore Road about 4:30 p.m. on Sun., March 13 injured two, including the driver of one who had to be extricated using the “Jaws of Life” hydraulic tool.
Seashore Road, which had been closed in the aftermath, has reopened.
Units from Lower Township Rescue Squad, ands Erma fire departments were dispatched to the scene. Villas Fire Department covered Erma during the accident.
A medevac helicopter was sent to the county airport to fly one patient to AtlantiCare Regional Trauma Center
Lower Township Rescue responded and treated the injured at the scene.
The driver who had to be extricated was airlifted to Atlanticare Regional Trauma Center.
The two passengers in the same vehicle were taken by Lower Township Rescue to Cape Regional Medical Center.
The driver of the second vehicle was uninjured and was the only occupant of that vehicle.
Both vehicles sustained damages which caused them to be towed from the scene. The police investigation showed that one vehicle failed to stop or yield to oncoming traffic at a stop sign located on Sally Marshall Crossing and the second vehicle which was traveling north bound on Seashore Road struck the vehicle.
The juvenile driver was charged with a motor vehicle violation for failure to stop or yield.
The accident was investigated by Patrolman Brian McEwing.
