UPDATE: Tuckahoe Crash Hurts Man, Charges Pressed

TUCKAHOE — The 20-year-old male, originally thought to be the passenger in a Jan. 19 one-vehicle at 1:45 a.m. by Upper Township Recreation Center, was the driver, and was charged with drug possession, according to State Police.
Originally, it was reported that the driver had fled the scene.
Tuckahoe Fire Department and Upper Township Rescue Squad responded to a vehicle that left the roadway and hit a a tree by the Upper Township Recreation Center.
Firefighters used the Jaws-of-Life hydraulic took to free the male, who was trapped. He was then air lifted by South Star Medevac to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center City Trauma Division, in Atlantic City with a head injury.
An Upper Township search and rescue dog was requested to search for the driver when it was believed that there had been another individual involved..
The crash is under investigation by Trooper Da Costa.of New Jersey State Police Woodbine Station.
