WEST CAPE MAY – On May 18, the Cape May Police Department along with the Cape May Fire Department responded to the intersection of Broadway and Yorke Avenue in West Cape May for a motor vehicle accident involving a New Jersey Transit bus and a cyclist.
According to a release, the cyclist, Efterpi Hines of Cranbury, died at Cape Regional Medical Center from injuries sustained in the accident.
The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident is being done by the Cape May Police Department with the assistance of the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office, New Jersey Transit Police, and the New Jersey State Police.
The investigation was ongoing as of May 20.

WEST CAPE MAY – A woman on a bicycle was struck and killed by an NJ Transit bus in West Cape May May 18, according to NJ.com.
The woman, who has not been identified, was biking on Broadway near Yorke Avenue around 5 p.m. when the bus struck her.
The bus operator and two passengers were present at the time of the incident, which is under investigation by the Cape May Police Department and Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office.
