UPDATE: Motorist Strikes Bicyclist in Wildwood Crest

WILDWOOD CREST- UPDATE: The following report was provided by the Wildwood Crest Police Department and includes corrections to the original report.
On Aug. 16 at 3:19 p.m., the Wildwood Crest Police Department received a 911 call regarding a motor vehicle collision that involved a bicyclist. The collision occurred at the intersection of New Jersey Avenue and Heather Road.
Due to the bicyclist’s injuries, the Wildwood Crest Rescue Squad transported him to the Crest Memorial School where he was then air lifted to the hospital.
The driver of the vehicle (Dustin Phillips) was questioned by police and his vehicle was towed due to the damage. At this time, no motor vehicle violations were issued. The Wildwood Crest Police Department is still investigating the accident.

Reportedly, a child was struck by a vehicle on Heather and New Jersey Avenues in Wildwood Crest at 3:18 p.m. Friday. Police are calling for a helicopter to fly the victim out. The helicopter is landing at Crest Memorial School lot. There is no further information at this time. Check back for updates.
