UPDATE: Middle Township Police identified the driver as Marion “Kenny” Dale, 21, of Goshen.
DIAS CREEK – Middle Township Police Department responded to a reported motor vehicle crash on Indian Trail Road in Dias Creek March 23 at approximately 12:06 a.m.
Upon arrival, officers found a vehicle off the roadway engulfed in flames. Township fire companies responded and extinguished the fire, according to a release.
Further investigation revealed the 2009 Nissan Altima was travelling westbound on Indian Trail Road when it ran off the roadway and struck a tree causing it to burst into flames.
The driver and lone occupant of the vehicle was pronounced deceased at the scene. Speed appears to be the main contributing factor to the crash.
Police are currently waiting for the identity of the driver to be confirmed by the Medical Examiner’s Office.
Fire departments from Green Creek, Rio Grande, and Court House assisted on scene, along with Middle Township EMS, County Fire Police and County Road Department. Patrolman Michael Pastore, the Major Crimes Unit, and the Crash Investigation Unit investigated.
