UPDATE: Lower Township Police Release Details on Fatal Car Accident

COLD SPRING – A 42-year-old Lower Township woman was killed Jan. 16, when the vehicle she was driving left the roadway and crashed into several trees and rolled over.
The crash occurred at approximately 5:23 p.m. on Route 9, approximately .02 of a mile north of the Route 109 jug handle in Lower Township.
Lower Township Police received two 9-1-1 calls reporting a roll over motor vehicle crash. Police responded to the area and discovered a single car crash with entrapment. Local fire districts also responded to the scene. Police officers on scene found a 2000 Ford Expedition driven by Pamela Giordano. Also in the vehicle, was Giordano’s 14-year-old daughter. Giordano was pronounced deceased at the scene by medical personnel. Her daughter was flown to Atlantic City Medical Center Trauma Unit. She was treated and released to her father.
The crash scene is being investigated by Lower Township Fatal Crash Unit, along with the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office Fatal Crash Investigation Unit.

A fatal car accident occurred Jan. 16 just north of the 109 jughandle, approximately 2/10 of a mile north of Cabin City Motel. Lower Township Police Captain Thomas Beeby told the Herald the accident that claimed a 42-year-old woman’s life happened a few minutes after 5:00 pm. Lower Township Police and the Prosecutor’s Office were at the scene.
