UPDATE: Driver Identified In Fatal Accident

MAURICE RIVER TOWNSHIP — State Police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred on Weatherby Road just at 3:45 p.m., on Tuesday, June 8.
The crash was discovered by a motorist traveling on the road.
Troopers from the Woodbine and Port Norris State Police Barrackes responded.
A 1992 Ford Ranger driven by Leigha A. Balsamo, 22 of Corbin City, was traveling eastbound on County Road 548 when the vehicle ran off the left shoulder of the road and impacted a tree head-on.
Balsamo was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Upper Township Rescue Squad and Tuckahoe and Port Elizabeth Fire Departments were dispatched to the scene with Belleplain Emergency Corps.
The crash is under investigation by troopers at the Port Norris station.
