UPDATE: County MUA Truck Overturns On Parkway Ramp, Driver Injured

By Harry B. Scheeler Jr.

OCEAN VIEW — A tractor-trailer overturned here on the northbound exit 17 on-ramp to the Garden State Parkway at 1:44 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 26.
State Police at the Bass River station said the tractor-trailer was registered to the Cape May County Municipal Utilities Authority. The truck was carrying mulch at the time of the crash.
The ramp was closed to traffic for cleanup and removal of the vehicle, which was blocking the ramp.
The truck’s driver, Barry Broughton, 62, of Whitesboro was taken to Cape Regional Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries. He was the vehicle’s sole occupant.
The accident remains under investigation.
