UPDATE: Bicyclist Struck by Auto in Burleigh

BURLEIGH—A bicyclist was struck here on Route 9 and Indian Trail Road just before 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 11.
The victim identified as Herbert Tozer 43 of Burleigh was air lifted to Atlanticare Regional Medical Center’s trauma unit in Atlantic City by South Star medevac.
Tozer is reported to have a serious leg injury.
According to police, Tozer was attempting to cross Route 9 on his bicycle. He was traveling in between vehicles that were stopped in traffic when he was struck by a pick up truck driven by Henry Wise 51 of Cape May Court House who was passing the stopped traffic while approaching the left hand turning lane at Route 9 and Indian Trail Road.
The Rio Grande Rescue Squad, Middle Township Ambulance Corps and Medic 9 responded to the scene.
The incident is under investigation by Patrolman. Julio Ruiz, Detective Clint Stocker and Detective Kenneth Martin of the Middle Township Police Departments Major Crime Unit.
