Unknown Vehicle Shatters Villas Utility Pole

VILLAS – On Sept. 29, a utility pole was reported down on Bay Drive. The Villas Fire Chief was first on scene and informed Lower Township police that there was a broken utility pole resulting from an unknown vehicle hitting it. The pole was in two pieces with utility and electric lines lying in the roadway, and the vehicle in question was not found at the scene.
The Townbank Fire Department arrived and assumed command with Lower Rescue on hand to assist with traffic control and possible injuries. Atlantic Electric was also called.
The road was last reported closed in order to replace the pole and wires.
Lower Police are investigating the accident.
