SEA ISLE CITY– Two people were injured Thursday afternoon when scaffolding collapsed at a construction site.
Sea Isle City Rescue Squad and AtlantiCare paramedics were dispatched to the scene on the beach block of 81st street at 1:14 p.m.
Police on scene said the men were papering the side of a duplex house that was under construction when a chain used to secure the scaffolding they were on broke sending the men plunging 22 feet bellow.
Both men identified by police as Eddie Velasquez, 32 and Marco Pacheco, 24, were airlifted to the trauma unit at AtlaniCare Regional Medical Center in Atlantic City by MedEvac 5 and SouthSTAR.
Police said they both were complaining of chest and back pain, one appeared to have broken both his wrist.
