Two Car Seaville Crash Slows Traffic, Victims Not Seriously Injured

SEAVILLE — A motor vehicle crash caused delays for holiday travelers departing the area on the afternoon of Sept. 1.
State Police, Upper Township Rescue Squad, Seaville Fire Department and Marmora Fire Department were called to the scene of a two-car crash at the intersection of Route 9 and CR-629.
According to State Police, a 2004 Chevrolet minivan, driven by Yvonne G Maher of Petersburg, was traveling southbound on Route 9 at mile post 23.6 when a 2005 Suzuki, driven by John W. Herrmann of Seaville, proceeded into the southbound lane after stopping at the stop sign at the intersection of CR-629 and Route 9. When Herrmann attempted to make a left hand turn into the northbound lane of travel of Route 9 his vehicle made contact with Maher’s vehicle.
Herrmann was trapped in his vehicle for about 30 minutes as firefighters worked to free him. He was transported to Shore Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries by Upper Township Rescue Squad.
Maher was treated on scene for injuries and refused further care
The accident is under investigation by Trooper J. Wheeler of the Woodbine Station.
