Two Accidents on Stone Harbor Boulevard Keep Police Busy

COURT HOUSE — On July 17, Middle Township police responded at approximately 2:20 p.m. to a motor vehicle accident on Stone Harbor Boulevard here.
As officers were responding to that accident they came upon a second unrelated accident about a mile away from the first one, also on Stone Harbor Boulevard.
The first accident occurred when a reported black passenger car, traveling east crossed over into the westbound lane of travel, forcing vehicles traveling west off the road.
The black vehicle left the roadway and struck a sign and a fence.
That vehicle then fled the scene into Stone Harbor. No other vehicles were involved and no injuries were reported.
As officers were responding to that accident, they came upon a second accident.
In that accident, a vehicle operated by a Francine Maclin, 68, of Stone Harbor was traveling east on Stone Harbor Boulevard, Maclin’s vehicle left the roadway and struck a wood piling then struck a parked vehicle. After coming to a rest Maclins vehicle caught fire.
A bystander, identified as a Russell L. Dawson of Philadelphia, witnessed the accident and ran to Maclin’s aid.
He was able to remove her from the burning vehicle.
Court House and Stone Harbor fire departments responded and extinguished the car fire.
Middle Township Rescue transported Maclin to Cape Regional Medical Center, reportedly with minor injuries.
Stone Harbor police also assisted at the scene as the roadway had to be shut down for a time.
Preliminary investigation reveals that Maclin may have suffered some sort of a medical disorder which could have caused the accident. Accident is under investigation by Patrolman Kurt Saettler.
