Student Pilot Crashes Plane at Woodbine Airport

WOODBINE — On Aug. 16 the Woodbine Fire Department, Belleplain Emergency Corps and State Police responded to the Woodbine Municipal Airport for a report of a single engine plane that crashed just off of runway 31 at 10:05 a.m.
According to Fire Chief Ryan the aircraft, a 2007 Costruzioni P2002 Sierra, was piloted by a student making a solo flight. The pilot refused medical treatment on scene.
According to one bystander, a local pilot, the aircraft crashed attempting to take off after an aborted landing.
The aircraft is registered to David Rola of Barnegat, according to FAA records.
The accident is under investigation by the New Jersey Department of Transportation Division of Aeronautics.
