By Press Release

This report is based on information received from law enforcement.
COLD SPRING – Lower Township Police Department investigated a motor vehicle accident in the area of Route 109 and Canterbury Way in Cold Spring Aug. 29 at 6:48 p.m.
At the scene, police learned the driver and sole occupant of the vehicle, Alan Logan, 54, of Rio Grande, was traveling South on State Highway 109 and lost control of his vehicle. He slid on the roadway out of control, before striking a utility pole and knocking out electricity to the area.

Traffic was diverted from Route 109 for several hours, as multiple crew members from Atlantic City Electric worked on replacing the utility pole and restoring electric to the area.
A preliminary investigation determined an unsafe speed was a factor in the collision. The driver was transported to Cape Regional Medical Center for injuries sustained during the accident.
