ERMA – Officers from the Lower Township Police Department responded to a report of a motor vehicle accident Aug. 13 at 6:20 p.m., involving a bicyclist who was struck by a motor vehicle on State Highway Route 9, near The Cape May National Golf Course.
The driver of the motor vehicle, Kurt M. Seer Jr., remained at the scene until police arrived and was cooperating with the investigation. He reported that he took his eyes off the road to adjust the radio volume and drifted onto the shoulder portion of the road. When he looked up, the bicyclist was in front of him and he was unable to avoid colliding with him.
Lower Township Rescue Squad transported the bicyclist to Cape Regional Medical Center as a precaution, for treatment of a possible head injury.
Patrolman Michael Nuscis of the Lower Township Police Department is the investigating officer.
