Rollover Crash Shuts Down Parkway, One Seriously Injured

SOMERS POINT— One person was seriously injured when the vehicle they were in overturned here on the Garden State Parkway at exit 30, on Tuesday Sept 22, shortly after 8:00 p.m.
Somers Point firefighters arrived on scene and reported the occupants to be trapped. Extrication was reported.
One person in the car was reported to be unresponsive. That person was airlifted to Atlanticare Regional Trauma Center in Atlantic City in critical condition by Medevac 5 on Tuesday
The northbound lane of the parkway was closed while the medevac helicopter landed at the scene. The parkway remained shut down for over two hours as members of the State Police Fatal Accident Investigation Unit investigated the crash.
One additional person was transported to an area hospital.
The accident is under investigation by state troopers at the Bass River station.
