COURT HOUSE — Middle Township police are asking motorists to avoid W. Pacific Avenue on March 24 because the township’s Public Works Department will be fixing a pot hole in the road.
At approximately 3:50 p.m., Middle Township Police Communications received numerous calls of a large pothole on West Pacific Avenue, near the intersection of South Boyd Street. The hole was reported to be 3 feet wide and 1 1/2 feet deep.
Officers responded to the scene, only to find that the width of the hole was expanding. Emergency crews of the Middle Township Road, and Sewer Departments, were called to investigate the incident.
For the time being, West Pacific Avenue, will be closed to thru traffic, between South Boyd Street and Route 9, in Cape May Court House, until the respective departments can investigate the incident.
An alternate route should be used when traveling to the #2 School. Cars can access Pacific Avenue via South Boyd Street and Front Street (along railroad tracks) to get to the school.
There were no injuries or other related incidents as a result of the damaged roadway.
