Police Seek Hit-and-Run Driver

RIO GRANDE – Troopers responded to a one-car motor vehicle crash on the Garden State Parkway at milepost 4.1 northbound in Rio Grande July 24 at approximately 12:12 a.m. An investigation at the scene revealed that the driver of the vehicle was involved in a one-car crash, according to a Facebook post on New Jersey State Police’s Facebook page.
After the crash, the driver exited his vehicle and entered the roadway while traffic continued. The driver crossed over the lanes and eventually made it to the right shoulder of the roadway. While standing on the right shoulder of the roadway, the driver was struck by a vehicle traveling in the right lane, causing injury to the driver’s right leg. Witnesses described the vehicle as a darker-colored, small SUV. The vehicle did not stop after striking the driver with its right front quarter panel.
