By Press Release

WILDWOOD – Wildwood Police Department responded to the 200 West block of Rio Grande Avenue in Wildwood, for the report of a hit and run collision at that location July 5 at approximately 3:00 a.m.
Responding officers located a juvenile victim laying in the roadway who had been struck in the head by the passenger side mirror of a passing vehicle, rendering the victim unconscious. The victim was transported to the hospital by helicopter, where he was admitted for the treatment of serious head injuries.
During the initial investigation officers located a piece of the passenger side mirror laying in the roadway that had broken off of the vehicle that fled the scene. This piece was the only evidence connected to the suspect vehicle, as witnesses to the collision were unable to provide specific information pertaining to the vehicle’s make, model or registration. The Wildwood Police Department asked for the public’s assistance in locating the vehicle involved in the hit and run collision through various media outlets.
In the weeks that followed the Wildwood Police Department Detective Division received information pertaining to the identity of both the registered owner and the driver of the vehicle. Using this information as well as other evidence gathered during the course of the investigation, charges have been issued in connection to the hit and run collision.
A warrant has been issued for the arrest of the driver of the vehicle, Ashley Paster, 25, of Croydon, PA, charging her with knowingly leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident resulting in serious bodily injury, a crime of the third degree. She has additionally been issued motor vehicle summonses for leaving the scene of an accident and for failure to report an accident.
As of this time, Paster has not been located.
The registered owner of the vehicle, Jennifer Burns, 24, of Levittown, PA, was issued motor vehicle summonses for leaving the scene of an accident and for failure to report an accident.
The Wildwood Police Department would like to thank the media and the public for their cooperation and assistance which resulted in identifying the vehicle and individual(s) involved in the hit and run collision which occurred July 5.
The charges and allegations contained in the complaint are merely accusations and the defendants are considered innocent unless and until proven guilty.
