Pedestrian Killed Outside Villas CVS

VILLAS – A pedestrian was killed after dark near the CVS Oct. 8, police said.
Eric Sloan, 42, a resident of the Villas, was crossing Bayshore Road on foot when he was struck by a 2016 Ford Escape headed south, according to a Lower Township Police release.
Police responded to the crash at 8:28 p.m.
Sloan succumbed to his injuries on the scene.
The Cape May County Medical Examiner’s Office, the townships’ Detective Bureau, the Villas Fire Department, AtlantiCare Medic 9 Unit and Inspira EMS also responded.
Police asked the public for assistance in the open investigation. Anyone with knowledge can call the department’s tip line at 609-886-1619 ext. 156.
Police did not say whether they know the identity of the driver. It was unclear Oct. 10 if any tickets had been issued or charges pressed.
