Parkway Crash Caused By Elderly Man Driving The Wrong Way

OCEAN VIEW– An elderly man driving South in the Northbound lane of the Garden State Parkway, side swiped three other vehicles at mile post 17.3, according to state troopers at the Bass River station.
Ocean View fire department and Belleplain Emergency Corps were dispatched to the scene shortly after 2 p.m. on Monday, April 12.
Alfred Squassoni, 88, of Ocean View, drove his blue Crown Victoria in the wrong direction after exiting the Ocean View Service Plaza, state police said.
No serious injuries were reported, state police said.
The accident is under investigation.
