BURLEIGH – New Jersey State Police (NJSP) responded to an overturned dump truck on the Garden State Parkway (GSP), May 31, at milepost 7.2.
According to NJSP Sgt. Philip Curry, based on preliminary information, at about 11 a.m., a dump truck was traveling southbound on the GSP in Middle Township, when the truck lost directional control and swerved from the right lane to the left lane and left the roadway.
The vehicle struck the guardrail and overturned into the median, spilling sand across the roadway. Curry said no injuries were reported.
The roadway was closed for approximately two hours, and was reopened at about 1 p.m. The left lane was closed again at about 2 p.m. for guardrail repair, which lasted about two hours.
