DIAS CREEK – Middle Township Police Department responded to a single motor vehicle crash on SH 47 in Dias Creek May 10 at 7:23 a.m.
The crash occurred between Dias Creek Road and Hand avenue. Lacey Marlow, 18, of Gloucester was driving a gold Ford Taurus north on SH 47. The initial investigation revealed Marlow fell asleep, causing the vehicle to drift off the roadway striking a tree. Front seat passenger Raquel Cannon, 19, was killed on impact. Marlow was transported to Cape Regional Medical Center for treatment.
The crash is under investigation by Middle Township Police and the Cape May County Prosecutor’s office.
Court House Fire Company responded to the scene and assisted with the JAWS of life. Fire Police Members from Green Creek, Goshen, and Rio Grande Fire Companies responded and assisted with traffic control.
