Motorcyclist Killed in Weekend Crash

EDGEWOOD – The Middle Township Police Department responded to a motor vehicle crash at the intersection of Route 9 and Bayview Road in Edgewood at approximately 7:59 p.m. Sept. 1. 
According to a release, it was determined that a 2003 Ford F-150 driven by Scott Haggerty, 46, of North Cape May, was pulling out of Bayview Road making a left-hand turn onto Route 9, when a collision occurred involving two motorcycles traveling northbound.
The motorcycles were operated by Christopher Green, 22, and Evan Harris, 18, both of Whitesboro. As a result of the crash, Green was pronounced dead at the scene. 
Members of the Middle Township Police Department Crash Unit, the Middle Township Police Department Major Crime Unit and the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office arrived on scene and investigated. The crash remained under investigation as of Sept. 3.
