NORTH CAPE MAY – Members of the Lower Township Police Department and Villas Volunteer Fire Company responded to the area of Bayshore Road and Breakwater Road April 14, at approximately 6:05 a.m., for the report of a motor vehicle crash involving one vehicle being engulfed in flames.
According to a release, upon arriving to the area, officers observed a 2017 black Ford Focus, that was operated by John Daly, of North Cape May. The vehicle was located off of the roadway of Breakwater Road and on the grass portion of the Rite Aid parking lot. The black Ford Focus was engulfed in flames and overturned. Also on scene was a black Dodge Ram 1500 with front-end damage.
During the investigation, it was discovered that the black Dodge Ram, operated by Dolores Masterson, and accompanied by her husband, David Masterson, was making a right-hand turn off of Bayshore Road and onto Breakwater Road when the vehicle was struck by the black Ford Focus. The black Ford Focus was traveling north on Bayshore Road and ran off the roadway, traveled through the parking lot of Fresenius Kidney Care, crossed over Breakwater Road, struck the Dodge Ram, and came to final rest on the Rite Aid property.
The Mastersons had to pull Daly out of his overturned vehicle.

Daly was arrested for suspicion of DWI, possession of CDS, and possession of drug paraphernalia, in addition to multiple traffic summonses.
This incident is being investigated by Patrolman Nuscis and Patrolman Kocis and is pending court.
