Man Killed Crossing Road

COURT HOUSE – Middle Township Police Department responded to a fatal pedestrian motor vehicle crash March 15 at 9:13 p.m. 
The crash occurred on Route 9, just south of Shellbay Avenue. Brendyn Anaya was traveling south on Route 9 when he struck a pedestrian crossing the road. The pedestrian was identified as Howard Severance, 87, of Green Creek. Severance was pronounced deceased at the scene. 
The crash is being investigated by the Middle Township Police Department Fatal Crash Team and the Major Crimes Unit. The crash is actively being investigated. 
Responding to the scene was Middle Township Rescue, Medics from AtlantiCare, Green Creek and Rio Grande fire companies. Traffic was detoured around the scene for three hours.
