AVALON— Police were called to the 400 block of 24th Street for a report of a man that was unconscious and bleeding on Friday, Aug 14 at 2:38 a.m.
The Avalon Rescue Squad responded to the scene and requested a medevac helicopter to airlift the man. Medic 9 also responded.
Medevac 5 landed at the 12th Street ball field where the Avalon Fire Department had set up a landing zone.
The flight crew reported the patient to be a male in his mid 20’s that was found unconscious next to his vehicle. When the medevac arrived the man was reported to be combative.
The man was airlifted to Atlanticare Regional Medical Center in Atlantic City.
