WILDWOOD CREST — On Aug. 3 at 5:22 p.m., Wildwood Crest Police Department received numerous calls from the Royal Hawaiian Motel about a man who had fallen from the fifth floor of the motel.
Officers Matthew Barnett and Joseph McKenna arrived to find 49-year-old Jon Langevin unconscious on the concrete of the Royal Hawaiian parking garage.
Wildwood Crest Detective Division and Cape May County Prosecutors were called to the scene and determined that Langevin was attempting to climb from the balcony of one room on the fifth floor to another one the same floor after discovering he was locked out of his room.
Witnesses stated Langevin lost his balance falling five stories striking a parked vehicle on motel property.
Wildwood Fire and Rescue transported Langevin to the Wildwood Crest Memorial School where Medivac Air Unit Penn-Star flew Langevin to Atlantic City Medical Center for treatment. Wildwood Crest Fire Company provided security for the Medivac landing.
Det. Edward Gorski and Det. Robert Lloyd are investigating the incident.
At the time of this report, Langevin was listed as in critical condition.
