Mail Carrier Snags Traffic Signal, Snarls Ensue

By Al Campbell

WILDWOOD — A contract U.S. Postal Service carrier’s truck snagged a traffic signal at Rio Grande Avenue and Park Boulevard about 4:30 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 3.
The Veltri cab towing a trailer of mail from Wildwood pulled the light pole down atop it. The driver stopped by Butch’s Sunoco, but traffic was snarled as police and Cape May County Fire Police were summoned to direct traffic around the blocks affected.
The Cape May County Traffic Signal department was summoned to repair the pole.
No further information was available.
