Lower Township Police Respond to Pedestrian Motor Vehicle Accident

Lower Township Police responded to the area of 545 Seashore Road in the Erma Section of Lower Township, for a pedestrian motor vehicle accident Nov. 17 at 5:07 p.m.
Upon police arrival, Tino Leao was found lying in the middle of the street with injuries to his left leg, left arm and head.
Police investigation revealed that a disagreement between Leao and Anthony J. McCarraher had occurred, which led to McCarraher getting into his vehicle and attempting to leave. Leao reached into McCarraher’s vehicle and grabbed him while he was pulling away.
The vehicle traveled approximately 97 feet before Leao let go of McCarraher. Leao fell to the street causing the above injuries.
McCarraher parked in the Maranatha New Covenant Church parking lot and returned to check on Leao while awaiting police arrival.
Leao was transported to Cape Regional Medical Center and later transferred to ACMC City Division, where he is currently being treated. No further details are available at this time.

Police continue the investigation and are scheduled to interview the victim and others Nov. 21.
