Ill Driver Causes 3 Crashes

This report is based on information received from law enforcement.
DIAS CREEK – Middle Township Police received a call of an erratic driver traveling south on Route 47 from Dennis Township July 20 at approximately 5:15 p.m. 
The vehicle was reported to be swerving and traveling in the opposite lane of travel, according to a release.
Officers responded to Route 47 and observed a green Ford Focus traveling south on Route 47, in the northbound lane of travel. Officers attempted to stop the Ford Focus but it failed to stop and continued traveling south in the northbound lane.
The Ford Focus continued traveling in the wrong lane and sideswiped a vehicle in the area of Springers Mill Road. The Focus continued to disregard the officers who were attempting to stop it and it struck another vehicle in the area of Steve’s Cafe. The Focus did not stop until it struck a vehicle head-on in the area of Indian Trail Road. 
The officers made contact with the driver, a 56-year-old man. Police did not release the man’s name. He appeared to be suffering from an unknown medical condition. He was transported to Cape Regional Medical Center for treatment of the unknown medical condition. 
The only injury reported at the time of the incident was a minor leg injury to the driver of the Ford Focus. The accident is being investigated by Patrolman Justin Vitola.
