Four Boaters Rescued Near Cape May

By Herald Staff

CAPE MAY — The Coast Guard and Seatow rescued four people June 21 aboard a 28-foot boat two miles southeast of Cape May Inlet near this city.
The Coast Guard received a mayday call about 10 a.m. from a crew member aboard the 28-foot boat that requested assistance because it was taking on water.
A rescue boat crew from Coast Guard Station Cape May arrived on scene and determined the water leak was coming from a blown intake hose.
The owner of the boat requested assistance from members of Seatow who arrived on scene and towed the boat and its crew to Lighthouse Pointe Marina near Wildwood.
