RIO GRANDE- One year ago today, two young girls lost their lives when they were struck by an alleged drunk driver, while walking home on the shoulder of Bayshore Road. The driver, Joshua Malmgren, 30, of Villas, pleaded not guilty to all charges in Cape May Superior Court last year. Malmgren posted bail at the end of April and was released from the Cape May County Jail pending trial.
Fifteen year old Nioami Lazicki and her cousin 13-year-old Ashley Dauber’s families are mourning the girls with a candlelight vigil on Wednesday, July 31 at 8:00 pm at Spicer Avenue and the boardwalk in Wildwood. Brian Lazicki told the Herald in an email, ” Even if you didn’t know them at all, please come out and support the family and pay respects. I hope to see a lot of you there.”
