DWI Charged in Nov. 3 Crash

BURLEIGH — Middle Township police were called to the scene of a motor vehicle accident, in which a truck struck a utility pole, Nov. 3 at 8:12 p.m. on Route 9 in the area south of Oyster Road.
On arrival, police found a pickup truck operated by Stanley Klecz, 53, of Burleigh had been traveling north on Route 9 when Klecz lost control of the vehicle. It left the lane of travel and s truck and snapped the utility pole, causing electrical and telephone wires to fall.
Rio Grande Rescue and paramedic units treated Klecz at the scene. He was airlifted to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center Trauma Unit.
No other vehicle or occupants were involved.
Court House Fire Department and Conectiv Power and Verizon Telephone crews responded to the scene.
Traffic was rerouted for several hours as crews worked to repair the wires and pole.
Klecz was charged with driving while intoxicated and various motor vehicle offenses. Patrolman Ron Miller investigated the accident.
