DVFC Responds to Collision

DENNISVILLE- The Dennis Volunteer Fire Company was dispatched to a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Route 47 and Petersburg Road at about 4:10 a.m. on Thursday, July 28, 2011.
Upon arrival, Engine 1838 arrived on located and reported two vehicles, a Dodge Ram pickup and a Chevy Silverado pickup, to have collided in the intersection, with both vehicles remaining in the roadway.
Crews assisted Squad 22 (Belleplain Emergency) with the treatment of patients, ensured the safety of the vehicles, and controlled traffic until the arrival of the tow truck.
Route 47 was closed to one lane for approximately an hour as crews worked to clear debris.
The New Jersey State Police responded to the scene, and are investigating.
