By Press Release

STONE HARBOR – Stone Harbor Police Department was dispatched to 111th Street and Second Avenue for a rollover motor vehicle accident with entrapment July 11 at 7:13 p.m.
Upon police arrival, a 2012 Infinity sport utility vehicle was found on its driver side with individuals attempting to support the vehicle from further rolling over onto its roof. The driver, Nabil Asterbadi, 68, and the lone occupant, was found to be trapped inside the vehicle. The other vehicle, a 2013 Chevrolet sedan, was observed to have significant front end damage.
The Stone Harbor Fire Department and the Stone Harbor Rescue Squad responded to the scene and were assisted by Middle Township EMS and Avalon EMS in extracting the driver from the Infiniti. The driver was transported to Cape Regional Medical Center for evaluation and was later released. The two occupants from the Chevrolet were assessed by EMS on scene and the passenger was transported to Cape Regional Medical Center for further evaluation.
The investigation revealed that the Infiniti was traveling east on 111th Street when it failed to stop/yield to the Chevrolet, which was traveling north on Second Avenue.
Asterbadi was determined to have a suspended driver’s license and was issued motor vehicle summonses for driving while suspended and failure to yield right of way at an intersection and faces a court appearance in Stone Harbor Municipal Court.
This incident was investigated by Patrolman Daniel Peters and Sergeant Michael Workman.
The charges and allegations contained in the complaint are merely accusations and the defendant is considered innocent unless and until proven guilty.
