Driver Freed After Crash

By Press Release

WILDWOOD – Wildwood City Fire Department was dispatched Aug. 24 at approximately 1:30 p.m. to a convenience store located on Pine and New Jersey avenues for a trash fire. While operating on that incident a verbal report from a passerby reported a vehicle into a tree at Wildwood Avenue and Park Boulevard.
Engine Company 38 and Ambulance 390, under the command of Firefighter Robert Feltwell, responded and found a two-car motor vehicle accident with one of the vehicles striking a building located on the 200 block West Wildwood Avenue. There was significant damage to the driver’s door preventing the occupant from exiting the vehicle. Engine 38, along with Engine 2 of North Wildwood utilized the Jaws of Life to remove the door allowing access to treat the patient. The driver was transported to Cape Regional Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the other vehicle was treated on scene and released.
The cause of the crash is under investigation by the Wildwood Police Department.
