Driver Charged With DWI After Accident

VILLAS – On Saturday, June 12 at approximately 9:10 p.m., Lower Township Police Department Communications Center received several 9-1-1 calls reporting a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Bayshore Road and Greenwood Avenues.
Police and Rescue Units responded to the motor vehicle accident.
Investigation on scene determined that a 2000 Chevy Sierra driven by a Dennis M. Yearicks, age 52, of the 300 Block of Cedardale Avenue, Villas, and a 1993 Ford, Bronco, driven by James W. Lepor, age 47 of the 200 Block of Langs Avenue, Villas, were involved in the accident.
Both drivers refused transportation to the hospital and after further investigation,
Dennis Yearicks was placed under arrest for Driving While Intoxicated. Yearicks was transported to Lower Township Police Department for processing on the DWI charge.
Lower Township Police report that Yearick’s Blood Alcohol Content Reading was over three times the legal limit of .08 percent.
The accident is currently under investigation by Patrolman William McPherson and Patrolman Shaun Whittington.
