MARMORA — A 37-year-old female was airlifted to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center City Trauma Division July 8 after her sport utility vehicle rolled over on the northbound side of the Garden State Parkway at mile marker 26.6 about 2:15 p.m.
The driver of the sport utility vehicle reported her children were passengers in the vehicle, however a first responder was unable to locate any other occupants.
An Upper Toqwnship Rescue Squad K-9 unit was called to the scene to search for possible victims in the woods adjacent to the scene.
State Police later confirmed the children were safe at home and the search was called off.
The parkway was left at a standstill for about half an hour while South Star Medevac landed on the roadway.
Marmora Fire Deopartment went to the scene for the extrication and landing zone assignments.
The accident is under investigation by State Police at the Bass River Parkway Station.
