Dennis Firefighters Respond to Crash Call

DENNISVILLE – Emergency personnel were dispatched to a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Route 47 and Petersburg Road in Dennisville at about 2:50 a.m. on Fri., April 15.
Upon arival, Dennis Volunteer Fire Company members reported two motor vehicles had collided at the intersection, resulting in one vehicle, a Dodge Neon, off the roadway, crashing through a fence before ending approximately 30 feet into a nearby lawn. The other vehicle involved in the incident, a Ford pickup, that remained in the road.
Firefighters assisted members from Belleplain Emergency Corps in the treatment of one patient from the pickup truck, who was transported to Cape Regional Medical Center.
Crews remained on scene for approximately 30 minutes awaiting arrival of tow truck services. Route 47 was reduced to one lane of traffic for a short time.
New Jersey State Police for the Woodbine barracks also responded to the scene, and are investigating.
