Cyclist Injured in Accident

CAPE MAY – A motor vehicle and bicyclist collided at the intersection of Beach Avenue and Broadway at 1:40 p.m. Aug. 16.
According to a press release from Cape May police, preliminary reports indicate the 16-year-old bicyclist suffered head and chest injuries; however, the extent of those injuries is unknown at this time.
An attempt was made to Medivac the bicyclist, but due to severe weather in the area the helicopters were grounded. The transport was then made to Cape Regional Medical Center.
The accident is under investigation with no further information available at this time, said the press release.
