COURT HOUSE – There were 10 fatal crash deaths in Cape May County in 2018, down from 16 in 2017, according to New Jersey State Police.
Only three of the state’s 21 counties fared better, with Hunterdon County accounting for the state’s best record, with three fatalities. The worst statistics were in Middlesex County, where 51 individuals died in traffic accidents.
Figures for 2019 show Cape May County already had two fatalities, one at Eighth Street and Wesley Avenue in Ocean City Jan. 9, and one on Fishing Creek Road in Lower Township Jan. 12. The worst record so far this year goes to Camden County, where three crashes claimed four lives.
