Crash Victim Airlifted

GREEN CREEK — After hitting a utility pole on Bayshore Road here, the driver of a 1998 Oldsmobile was airlifted to AtlantCare Regional Medical Center Trauma Unit on Aug. 17 with a head injury.
Charles J. Gift, of Del Haven, was traveling on Bayshore Road when he left the road for an unknown reason and struck the pole sustaining an injury, but remaining conscious. According to police, Gift, 38, was the sole occupant in the vehicle.
Rescue personnel from Rio Grande and Middle Township Rescue and Atlantic Care Paramedics initially treated the victim and Green Creek Fire Department assisted at the scene.
Patrol Officer Michelle Greenwaldt is investigating the accident.
