Crash Into Residence Results in Non-Life Threatening Injuries

BURLEIGH – Middle Township Police Department was dispatched to the 100 block of Indian Trail Road in Burleigh Oct. 17 at 3 p.m. for the report of a vehicle into a residence. Upon arrival, officers found a motor vehicle crash which resulted in one vehicle, a white Nissan Altima, crashing into the foundation of the residence located in the 100 block of County Road 618, and one vehicle with front-end damage, a green Honda SUV, disabled in the eastbound lane of County Road 618, also located in front of the residence. 
Based on the preliminary investigation, the driver of the Nissan Altima, Stephen Boyd, 47, of Millville, N.J. was traveling eastbound on Indian Trail Road, at which time the driver of the Honda SUV, Yanira Lopez, 37, of Court House, attempted to make a u-turn from the westbound lane of Indian Trail Road into the eastbound lane, whereby causing the driver of the Nissan Altima to strike the Honda SUV. The driver of the Nissan Altima was unable to maintain the lane of travel following the initial crash and as a result, crashed into the foundation of the residence in the 100 block of Indian Trail Road. The driver of the Nissan Altima, and a passenger of the Honda SUV were transported to Cape Regional Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the Honda SUV was issued a motor vehicle summons for careless driving and an improper turn.
The charges and allegations contained in the complaint are merely accusations and the defendant is considered innocent unless and until proven guilty.
