Crash Darkens Swainton for Hours, Driver Charged with DWI

SWAINTON — A late-night, one-vehicle crash on Goshen-Swainton Road, Thur., March 24 left portions of this community in darkness for hours.
According to Middle Township Police Department, at 11:07 p.m. a crash was reported that involved one motor vehicle that struck a utility pole.
When police arrived they found Dana Bezaire, 24, of North Cape May, had left the roadway and hit the pole.
Because of that crash, Swainton area residents were without electricity for hours until crews from Atlantic Electric repaired the pole and restored power.
Bezaire was transported to Cape Regional Medical Center for minor injuries.
Police have charged Bezaire with driving while intoxicated and careless driving.
